![]() ![]() If you do not have a lot of gold available, the next best ratio for maintaining the speed closest to 8 m/s is 1 powered rail every 38 rails (1:37), resulting in a speed of 7.96 m/s. The optimum ratio for maintaining the maximum speed of 8 m/s for a minecart with a player inside is 1 powered rail every 34 rails (1:33). The optimum ratio for maintaining the maximum speed of 8 m/s for any full utility minecart is 1 powered rail every 6 normal rails (1:5). The optimum ratio for maintaining the maximum speed of 8 m/s for any empty utility minecart is 1 powered rail every 28 normal rails (1:27). I did this in order to see if the minecart physics had been changed at all, and to eliminate any human error that was present in the previous data, which turned out to be small but sufficient. After I tested minecarts with chests multiple times (as well as hoppers, which travelled the exact same speed), I decided to retest TaviRider's previous data on minecarts with players inside. I slightly updated the map by using command blocks and scoreboards, which automatically counted the amount of game ticks that have passed, which I then converted to work out the m/s for each minecart on each line. This Google Sheet contains data that I collected using TaviRider's original map, which contains several rails that are 2 km's long. Although this post (which was made over 4 years ago) contained some useful information, it didn't contain any information about minecarts with chests, so I decided to find out the data for myself. Recently I've tried to find out the optimum ratio between normal rails and powered rails for a mailing system I am designing for a server, however I couldn't find any data for what I needed. ![]() (#spoiler) = neat!
